Merstham is a village in the Reigate and Banstead borough, sitting alongside the M23 and A23 about six miles north of our Horley base. A residential village core with older housing stock, combined with the M25 and M23 corridors nearby, means pest pressures here come from both the surrounding open land and the industrial and distribution areas close by. We cover Merstham as part of our regular local patch.
Merstham's position on the edge of the North Downs, with farmland to the north and the motorway corridor to the east, creates a particular pest environment. Rats are drawn to properties on the village edges backing onto open land, using the drainage infrastructure beneath the A23 as a travel route. We receive rodent control calls from Merstham regularly, particularly from older properties in the village core.
Grey squirrels are a feature of the tree cover through the village, particularly near Quality Street and the older residential roads. Moles are active on garden plots bordering agricultural land to the north and west. Wasps present the usual seasonal pattern, with loft spaces and cavity walls in older housing as the most common nesting sites.
We provide rodent control, wasp and hornet nest removal, grey squirrel management, mole control on gardens and paddocks, pigeon and bird proofing and sealing work at the end of every infestation job. For commercial clients near the South Merstham industrial and logistics areas, we provide ongoing pest control contracts with written records and compliance documentation.
Alongside Merstham itself, we cover South Merstham, Gatton Park, the area around Merstham station and properties close to the North Downs escarpment. We also serve clients in Kingswood and Coulsdon to the north, and in Nutfield and Godstone to the south-east.
